- Chapel Hill bus ad campaign leads to a flood of local media coverage
In August 2012, the Chapel Hill-based Church of Reconciliation posted the “Be On Our Side” ad campaign in the interior of 98 buses in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, North Carolina. The transit agency temporarily removed the ads pending additional contact info for the church being added. Once the requested info was added, the ads went back up, notwithstanding some community efforts to censor them. The controversy has generated a lot of community discussion and has been covered by the News & Observer, Chapelboro, The Daily Tar Heel, Chapel Hill News and many more…[see media coverage here]
